Support for
Self-Employment (SSE).

The Support for Self-Employment program was suspended on May 1, 2024 for an indefinite period. It aimed to provide assistance in the form of coaching, technical advice and financial support to support eligible individuals in creating a business. What is the Support for Self-Employment (SSE) measure? ?

  • The Support for Self-Employment measure aims to provide assistance in the form of coaching, technical advice and financial support to eligible individuals, so that they can achieve autonomy in the labor market by creating or developing a business, or by becoming self-employed.

Objectives of the Support for Self-Employment (SSE) measure

  • Support eligible individuals able to implement a viable business project;
  • Promote job creation through business creation;
  • Offer self-employed workers receiving last-resort financial assistance the possibility of consolidating their business or self-employed activity;
  • Diversify local economies in a context of strategic economic development;
  • Help people regain their financial independence.

 

This measure
is for you if…

  • To participate in the program, you must be in one of the following situations:
  • Be a recipient of employment insurance;
  • Be a social assistance recipient;
  • Be unemployed and without public income support;
  • Be a worker with precarious status;
  • The Support for Self-Employment program should be the solution that will allow you to get a job and enter the job market.

Take advantage of a financial
boost to get started.

Participants who have been supported in the SSE measure are eligible, under certain conditions, to apply for financing between $5,000 and $15,000 via our Access Fund designed to support start-up businesses.
